Fun Fall Activities
Fall Foliage
Crisp fall days are just around the corner! I don’t know about you, but when I think of fall I think of sweater weather, pumpkin lattes, and colorful leaves to play in. It’s also the perfect time to think outside the box, and have some fun with your children. Here are some fun creative activities you can do with your children from sun-up till sundown this fall.
Feed the Ducks
Grab some stale bread and head to your local lake or pond. Make it a fun family outing event, pack a picnic lunch and plan on going to the playground. It’s the next best thing to getting your kids an actual pet.
Go Apple Picking
The best thing about the fall is the family trip to the orchard! Seek out a nearby farm and check the schedule for fun activities including, hay rides, corn mazes and more. Your freshly picked bushels of apples will be great for making apple pie, apple cider, breads, a healthy lunchbox snack or even an accessory to a salad!
Take a Hike
Nothing says fall foliage like a scenic hike. The whole family can get a healthy dosage of exercise by exploring a local scenic trail, park or a new neighborhood you had no idea existed. Pack up some LDO snacks and water bottles, and have a great time discovering nature with your family.
Campfire
Some of my best memories is being around a campfire. If you have access to a fire pit or own one, let the kids roast everything from s’mores to fruit and vegetables. After everyone is fed, tell stories, jokes and make memories.
Plant a Garden
Planting a garden is a great way to educate your kids about the value of fresh food. They’re curious, they like to learn by doing, and being hands-on. A child can experience the gratification that comes with creating and caring for something over a period of time. This teaches them responsibility and has them observing the cycle of life.
