Pro-Probiotics
Have you incorporated probiotics into your child’s diet? If not, you may want to do so. We all naturally have bacteria in our gut, but adding probiotics can help support your digestive and immune systems. Here are three reasons why we’re pro-probiotics!
- Health
Probiotics have been shown to help support health in a variety of ways, including reducing the likelihood of eczema, lessening the effects of colic, treating antibiotic-associated diarrhea and infectious diarrhea, and reducing intestinal problems (Gottesman 1).
- Nutrition
Many foods supplemented with probiotics have other nutrients that are good for you, but the probiotics themselves can help your body get more nourishment from food. According to Dr. William Sears, “healthful bacteria ferment the soluble fiber in food, producing healthful short-chain fatty acids that nourish the cells of the large intestine” (1). In English, this means that good bacteria can help produce good fat, which your body needs.
- Deliciousness
Finally, probiotics are found in many tasty foods that we love! Check out our freeze-dried Tiny Yogurts snacks or our yummy Tiny Gummies! Our Tiny Gummies have 1 billion probiotic cultures per serving, and our Tiny Yogurts have 1.5 billion probiotic cultures per bag. Use them as a topping on yogurt for an extra-delicious dose of probiotics.
