Frequently Asked Questions

Why a Duck?

You never have to ask if a duck is a duck. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck! It's this straightforwardness that inspired our name. With our snacks, you'll always know exactly what you're eating. The ingredients are simple, the processing minimal and there's no added junk to mess things up.

What food certifications do your products have?

All of our products are 100% USDA Organic, Project Non-GMO, Gluten-free, and Kosher.

Where can I find your products locally?

Check out the "Retail Store Locator" on our website (http://www.littleduckorganics.com/pages/retail-store-locator) to find retailers near you that carry LDO products. We even list which products they stock!

My child has food allergies. Are your products safe for my family?

Little Duck Organics products are manufactured in a facility completely free of peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish and eggs. All of our products are co-packed in the same facility and this facility also processes wheat, dairy and soy products. The facility is SQF Level 2 Certified and cleans the production lines between runs when allergens are present using a standard sanitation operating procedure that meets SQF Level 2 and organic standards. If you have additional questions, please contact us at hello@littleduckorganics.com. Food safety is super important to us so we'll do our best to tell you everything you need to make an educated decision about our snacks.

Who can eat Little Duck Organics products?

Our tasty snacks are for all humans, big and small! If you plan to share LDO treats with your little duckling, be sure to check the suggested age requirements on the bag.

What exactly is your freeze-dried fruit?

Our freeze-dried fruit is real, organic fruit that is diced and then frozen. After that, the fruit is placed in a vacuum chamber on low heat. The frozen water crystals evaporate directly from ice to water vapor in a process called sublimation. It sounds fancy but it's actually an ancient technique developed by the Incas. Once fruit has been freeze-dried, it has little to no moisture but retains all of it's flavor.

What are the benefits of freeze-drying fruit?

Aside from creating incredibly tasty, super crunchy fruit, freeze-drying has a ton of benefits. Most importantly, freeze-dried fruit is shelf-stable for much longer than fresh fruit while retaining flavor and all bio-available vitamins, nutrients and minerals. Freeze-dried fruit is also great for those on the go--it's way easier to carry a few bags of our Apple & Banana Tiny Fruits than a bushel of apples and a cluster of bananas. Trust us on this one.
